Elders
Our church is led by a group of elders, called the session.
Our minister
David Balzer is our minister. David is married to Caron, and has four married children and three grandchildren. He’s been the pastor here since 2013. He loves to see people growing in their love for Jesus. He also lectures part-time at Christ College.
Our assistant minister
Danny Ford is our assistant minister responsible for The Joshua Tree, our Petersham service. Danny is married to Helena, and has four children. With degrees in theology and marketing Danny has served in churches in various leadership capacities over the past decade and has been a missionary in the inner-west since 2010. He has a passion for people to know, receive and love Jesus in Sydney and beyond.
Our pastoral assistant
Eleanor Dodd (El) is a pastoral assistant. She studied a Master of Theological Studies at Sydney Missionary and Bible College and previously worked as a pharmacist on the South Coast. El is excited about walking alongside the women at Ashfield to encourage them to live faithfully and joyously in the places God has put them.
Our pastoral assistant (kids and youth)
Koh Saito is our pastoral assistant (kids and youth). He’s a trained English/ History teacher, and is studying a MDiv at Christ College. Koh loves to see youth meet Jesus and grow in Christ’s love.
Women’s Ministry Leadership Team
A team of women leaders coordinates and facilitates ministry to women, and works with the session as, together, they shepherd and lead our congregation.
Committee of Management
Our finances and property matters are the responsibility of a committee of management
