Welcome! We’re so glad you joined us. W
e meet at 9.30am (with Sunday School for Preschool-Yr 5 kids during term) and 6pm. The church is on the corner of Liverpool Rd and Knox St, Ashfield – a short walk from the train station and bus stops east and west.
Street parking is limited. Ashfield Mall has two hours free parking at street level, and three hours on the roof. Walk up Knox St, and enter the church from the front entrance on Liverpool Road.
We aim to be a genuine community, growing as followers of Jesus.
Here are some studies that tell you a little about us. The Connect Series is a 4 week series about connecting to God and to church. It is designed to help you understand who we are, and how you can fit in and play a part.
What happens at a meeting?
Our Sunday gatherings run for a little over an hour. They involve singing, praying and listening to teaching from the Bible. We’ll stand up and sit down at different times, but we’ll tell you what to do. We’ll read from the Bible, but we’ll tell you what page to find the reading. We’ll aim to explain what we’re doing and why.
Afterwards, we love to talk over coffee or tea – we’ve got espresso coffee, some snack to enjoy and a play area for kids. We’d love you to hang around and get to know us.
What about the kids?
There is no creche, but we have a parent’s room for those with babies and toddlers. It’s at the front of church, through the doors to the west of the organ, or you can access it from the western side of the church. There is change table, comfy chairs, and a PA system, so you won’t miss out on what’s happening in church.
There is Sunday School for kids (Preschool – Yr 5) during school term. Kids are in church for the first part of the 9:30am service. Following the kids talk, parents sign-in their kids at the back of the church and our Sunday School leaders take them to the upstairs hall for the program. The kids are brought back down to the morning tea area at the end of the service for parents to sign them out. You’re welcome to accompany your child to Sunday School if you want to see what it’s like.
Youth Group runs in the hall during term on Friday nights from 7-9pm for youth in Yr5-12.
What should I wear?
Whatever you like!
Some people wear T-shirts, shorts and thongs. Others wear a suit. Mostly, we’re pretty casual.
What else do you do?
The main way we look after each other is in mid-week home groups. We talk, eat and drink, study the Bible, pray for and encourage each other.
What is a Christian?
God, the loving ruler of the world, created us to live under his care. But we have all rejected him, choosing to rule our own lives. Because of this, we face his just judgment—death and separation from him. Yet in his great love, God sent his Son, Jesus, to live the perfect life we could not live and die in our place, taking the punishment we deserved.
But Jesus did not stay dead—God raised him to life as the victorious ruler of the world. He now offers forgiveness and new life to all who turn from rebellion and trust in him. He gives us his Spirit, who transforms us daily into his likeness, and promises us eternal life beyond this life, giving us hope, purpose and peace.
We would love to help you find out more. We run regular short courses on the Bible about the life of Jesus (Christianity Explored), a short course on Connecting to God and our church (The Connect Course). There is also more information here (Two Ways To Live)
Do you have questions? Anything we can help with? Let us know your details and we’ll be in touch (We won’t use them for any other purpose)
